COMSTOCK WESTERN DIVISION WINS WORKSAFE ALBERTA 2005 BEST SAFETY PERFORMER AWARD

Over 128,000 companies were evaluated for this award which assesses performance based on the following criteria:

  • Audit Results (Certificate of Registration)
  • WCB Accident Performance and
  • Government Compliance (no violations)


COMSTOCK WINS 2005 ECAO (Electrical) SAFETY AWARD

Comstock Canada's Ontario offices are the proud winners of the 2005 R.H. Carroll Safety Award for the >50,000 hour category in rate group 830 (Power & Transmission). The Comstock Transmission divisions combined to work over 100,000 hours without a Lost Time Accident and over 50,000 hours incident free in 2004.

This marks the second consecutive year that Comstock has won an ECAO Safety Award. The R.H. (Hugh) Carroll Award was created in 1999 by the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario to pay tribute to member firms who best exemplify the dedication and commitment to safety in the electrical contracting industry as exhibited by R.H. (Hugh) Carroll through his years of service. Comstock's excellent safety record qualified them for this award.


COMSTOCK ONTARIO OFFICES WIN ECAO (Electrical) SAFETY AWARD

Comstock Canada's Ontario offices are the proud winners of the 2004 R.H. Carroll Safety Award for the >500,000 hour category in rate group 704 (Electrical Workers). Seven of the Ontario divisions combined to work over 1 million electrical trade hours without a Lost Time Accident in 2003. These divisions included: London, Energy (OPG), Hamilton, Sudbury/Thunder Bay, Ottawa, Facility Services (Ontario) and Burlington who performed work on a multitude of project sites including: electrical generating stations (nuclear, hydro, coal & gas), petrochemical plants, automotive plants, water / waste treatment facilities, mining facilities, hospitals and commercial buildings.

The R.H. (Hugh) Carroll Award was created in 1999 by the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario to pay tribute to member firms who best exemplify the dedication and commitment to safety in the electrical contracting industry as exhibited by R.H. (Hugh) Carroll through his years of service. Comstock's excellent safety record qualified them for this award.

COMSTOCK ALBERTA OFFICE CELEBRATES 500,000+ HOURS LTA FREE ON SYNCRUDE UE-1 PROJECT

In September, 2004, the Comstock Canada Alberta office celebrated reaching the 500,000+ hours LTA free milestone on the Syncrude UE-1 Project. The actual hours worked LTA free on this project is currently over 600,000 and counting.

Comstock's manpower on this project consists of approximately 350-450 personnel performing various electrical and mechanical installations & upgrades within this large - operational petrochemical plant, including the construction of one of the worlds largest cooling towers. The Comstock Alberta/British Columbia offices have worked over 4 years - 1.5+ million hours LTA free. Special thanks to the London division for applying for this award on behalf of the Ontario offices.
